Colorful Cars (THE BIG READ)

Join us as we learn about Zora Neale Hurston's American Folklore and hear the story Roy Makes a Car. After the story, you can decorate your own matchbox car to keep. The library will provide the materials.

Family Fun Time

Fun for the whole family.
Registration is required and begins 2 weeks before program dates.
Join us for a 45-minute program of seasonal stories and crafts.

  • Sat, Feb 28: Create Your Own Pocket Scarf. We'll create our own pocket scarves to stave off the cold winter winds. Simple sewing project for boys and girls ages 6 and up. We'll be collecting cool buttons so we can personalize our scarves to represent our inner style. Button donations accepted at the library until Friday February 27.
  • Sat, Mar 28: Bird Feeder Project. Join your friends at the Scottsville Library to create a bird feeder for your own back yard. We'll learn about the birds you may see at your feeder and read some bird stories. Then we'll share a sweet tweet with our friends. Ages 6 and up.
  • Sat, Apr 25: Earth Day Celebration. Don't let Earth Day pass you by. Plan to join us to plant some vibrant flowers to welcome spring and celebrate our earth home. We'll learn basic planting techniques and plant care. Fun for all ages!
